GET TO KNOW MEGHANN
Background
Meghann grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and attended the University of South Dakota for her undergraduate studies and law school, graduating from both programs with high honors. Following law school, and before entering private practice, Meghann worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Glen A. Severson of the Supreme Court of South Dakota. As a law clerk, she reviewed hundreds of briefs, heard dozens of oral arguments, and assisted the Court in preparing for oral arguments and researching and writing decision.
Meghann has worked in private practice in Sioux Falls for twelve years. In that time, she has handled a wide variety of commercial litigation matters, including trusts and estates litigation, labor and employment law disputes, construction and design litigation, insurance bad faith litigation, and professional liability. Her work touches many prominent industries in South Dakota, including banking, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and transportation. Meghann has appeared in both federal and state courts in South Dakota and handled numerous appeals to both the South Dakota Supreme Court and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Meghann has also completed Mitchell Hamline School of Law’s mediation training course. While Meghann has litigated numerous cases through trial and appeal, she also has found mediation to be a powerful tool to facilitate meaningful, respectful, solution-focused discussions.
Meghann serves her community as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Sioux Empire, because she is passionate about nurturing and educating children and youth in our community to prepare them for life-long success.
When not in the office or working to leave our community better than she found it, Meghann enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also an attorney, her three children, and her dog, Pippa. Meghann also enjoys running (with her dog), camping, gardening, cooking, and baking pies.
